Ngee Ann Academy Presents Virtual Public Lecture on Frailty & Healthy Ageing by Ms Sara Baker (King's College London)
The World Health Organisation promotes the concept of healthy ageing as the process of developing and maintaining the functional ability that enables well-being in older age, which should be the focus of all modern societies (WHO, 2015). Frailty is highly prevalent in older adults and has been associated with higher levels of disability and morbidity. As healthcare workers, it is therefore important to look beyond disease states and move towards a holistic methodology to prevent disease and maintain function in older adults.

Ms Sara is a qualified nurse who has worked for the past 30 years within a number of specialities and clinical environments. Including predominantly older people and palliative care within the hospital and community setting, which included their home and care homes. She has been been involved in a number of teaching and clinical projects aiming to improve the coordination; communication and delivery of care for this group.
